'Babel' leads Golden Globe nominations with 7

The nominees for the 64th Annual Golden Globes were announced this morning in Hollywood. Babel led the way with seven nominations.
Considering both film and television categories, Helen Mirren was the most nominated for three acting nods. Annette Bening, Emily Blunt, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Chiwetel Ejiofor each received two nominations in acting categories. Clint Eastwood received Best Director nods for both Flags of Our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima.

The Golden Globes will be awarded on Jan. 15. Of course they perennially serve as an indication of Oscar success. The Academy Award nominations will be announced Jan. 23 while the ceremony itself will be held Feb. 25.
