A marine base sits in the desolate and remote outpost of American Samoa, where only the weather seems to change. But when Sadie Thompson (Rita Hayworth, Gilda) winds up stranded on the island while her boat is being quarantined, she manages to stir up the blood of every marine on the base, especially Sergeant Phil O'Hara (Aldo Ray, The Green Berets), who falls for Sadie on sight. Missionary man Alfred Davidson (Academy Award winner Jose Ferrer, 1950, Best Actor, Cyrano de Bergerac), however, thinks that Sadie is a problem, and possibly a prostitute from an illicit club in Honolulu. Newly remastered.
